The basics of the Socratic Method is to question someone's statement until they're positive their statement is correct; if they think they're incorrect they can rephrase their statement. Here are the 5 steps of the Socratic Method: Listen to the statement, find the exception in the statement, question the statement in the context of the exception, refine the statement. These steps will repeat until the statement is completely true.
In my class, Forbidden Books, we studied why books were banned, what censorship is, and what the Socratic Method is. We read the forbidden book, Fahrenheit 451, and had book clubs every week to discuss the book.

In our AP we were supposed to find an open-ended question and have a Socratic dialogue with a partner. I partnered with ALL, here’s here blogger! Our question was “Are government conspiracies real?” We begin with ALL exasperated wondering how people can think conspiracies are true, I then ask why she doesn’t believe in them. The discussion continues with us talking about the California Wildfire conspiracies and why they were/weren’t real. I hope you enjoy ALL and I exploring the Socratic Method!
