What a Winderful World
Hello!
This is the second AP for our class Fuel in which we have studied different fuels and raw materials used to make energy. In this unit, Present, we have learned how to calculate work, power, kinetic energy, velocity, mass, and force, and we studied what energy sources we are using now, and how energy is made and how it gets to our homes. In this unit, we had one FE (field experience) in which we went to a ComEd facility/training center and found out more about how we get electricity to our homes. Beforehand we had actually studied a ComEd electricity bill which helped us see what we were paying for when we paid for our electricity. We made this AP to sell a renewable resource to a company given the storyline that we are presenting at Energy Con 2018. We are doing this not only to have a link to our last unit in which we sold a non-renewable resource but to also learn more about how renewable resources work. It was very hard to come up with accurate numbers for my equations since there are so many factors in price and company size, plus finding reliable resources was also difficult but I enjoyed completing this AP.
Please enjoy my wind infomercial!

I learned a lot making this AP, I actually knew very little about wind energy before making this and now I feel very informed. It's the same process almost as burning nonrenewable resources and that was very surprising to me. I maybe could have done a better job of filming everything and making sure I sounded enthusiastic but it's a little hard after filming it 15 times. And I wish I could have gone into more detail about wind in the video but that would have been really pushing the commercial time. Overall I really liked this AP, though I wish we had more time to sell our product.
