Klean Kitchen
Howdy, before we jump into your regularly scheduled programming, let's have a chat. Covid-19 is still raging outside our homes, and our strong teachers are still teaching us through digital video calls on Zoom and Google Meet. It is a troublesome, bizarre, and scary time, and I think we all just need to talk to someone. Please, if you or a loved one feel alone, sad, or are being hurt reach out to someone. Here are some hotlines you can call or message:
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline : 1-800-273-8255 : Chat
State of Illinois' Domestic Violence Help Line : 1-877-TO END DV or
877-863-6338 (Voice) 1-877-863-6339 (TTY)
National Domestic Violence Hotline : 1-800-799-7233 : Chat
Please take care of yourself and your loved ones, wash your hands and comply with the CDC's guidelines. Much love, GGS.
Have you ever looked around your kitchen and thought, "Wow, this is so energy inefficient!"? If you have, or haven't and should, we've got the solution for you. After a unit of our team learning about electricity, we're ready to give you the kleanest kitchen!
In Urban Planning we have dove into electricity, circuits, Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, their Current War, AC, DC, and Circuit diagrams. We also had some FE's (Field Experiences), in one we were able to call an architectural designer named, Jaclyn Marcus and talk about how electricity affects architecture and design and vise versa. Shockingly electricity is very fascinating!
Now for our AP (Action Project), we were supposed to build a green/ energy efficient building/room/location using a circuit board we were given and the information on the worldwide web. Here's what I did:
To conclude, this AP has been very draining to do as I tried to go to big. I tried making an entire house instead of a room or something plausible. At last, my stubbornness has bested me, I hath been slain. I think now I am really going to consider my first ideas as perhaps at best idealistic and at worst impossible! I think I will be growing a lot from this revelation, and this new knowledge of electricity. Plus my moms really liked helping me and I think we'll be making more houses/places to light up with the circuit kit. It will be a nice distraction from the pandemic. Thank you for reading, take care.
