You Have to Put Your Back Into it!

Hello Micah!
How grand it is to talk to you again. I hope school is going well, and I can't wait for your graduation. Thank you for asking about how my shadow semester is doing in your letter. It is sure going, Lora and I are taking a class called, Cure. In this class, we have been studying the differences between medicine, a drug, and a medicament. What curing and treating are, what different medicaments do, and how to balance chemical equations.

We had an Anesthetic Doctor come and talk to us about her day to day and we also conducted an 'experiment' with a drug! Haha, I know what you're thinking the drug is a berry, it's called a Miracle Berry! It works like most drugs in the lock and key fashion, which means that the specific opening in an enzyme that receives a signal, to indicate pain or in this case, the sourness of food, is blocked! Meaning the key is the signal or the drug and the lock is the enzyme. Anyhow it made all of these sour foods taste sweet, it was an otherworldly experience!

I've also had to make a mock design for a medicament for a certain ailment as my project for this unit. It is to include 3 different medicines one can take to remedy the ailment. I chose back pain as Lora and I both inherited the "back pain genetic" as she calls it. I am enclosing my finished product so you can see what I have learned! I cannot wait to see you soon,

Much Love, Dr. Mara Slyn.
